<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a rotary developing device light in weight and adaptive to high-speed rotation by deterring a unit support from twisting when driven to rotate. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary developing device in which a developing cartridge is inserted and extracted along a rotary shaft and disposed with the unit support 4 is characterized in that the rotary shaft is formed of a penetration shaft 2 and the disposition of the developing cartridge at least on a non-driving side is carried out on the penetration shaft side of the unit support 4 and directly by the penetration shaft 2.
