AIR BAG DEVICE FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat that can suitably develop and inflate an air bag.

SOLUTION: This air bag device M for the front passenger seat is mounted in a part of an instrument panel 1 in front of the front passenger seat. The air bag device M comprises the air bag 40 inflated allowing the inflow of an inflating gas G, and an inflator 11 formed as a pyro type and long mass flow type for supplying the air bag 40 with the inflating gas G. The air bag 40 is set so that the quantity of airflow per unit area in setting pneumatic pressure to 20kPa is 1.0l/cm2/min or less and that the weight is 230g/m2or less.
