PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device enhancing a driving transmission efficiency of a winding-up mechanism by enhancing the contact area and press contact force of a flat rope against a traction sheave. SOLUTION: The flat rope 3 for connecting the elevator car 1 and a balance weight 2 is wound on the traction sheave of the winding-up mechanism 4 and the car is lifted in a hoistway by rotating/driving the winding-up mechanism. Pulleys 15, 16 are arranged at upper and lower positions of the traction sheave in adjacent to each other while clamping the traction sheave. A contact area of the flat rope and the traction sheave is enlarged and press contact force is raised by laying the flat rope wound on the traction sheave and drawn out on the upper pulley and the lower pulley in the approximately reverse bending state.
