PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent multiple feeding of papers by preventing a bundle of set papers from falling down backwards in a paper feeding device. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device 1 comprises a paper feeding roller 3, a separating action part 7, a paper return lever 9, a hopper 11, and a paper support 13. The hopper 11 is swung to bring a bundle of set papers P into pressure contact with the paper feeding roller 3. By rotating the paper feeding roller 3, the paper P at an uppermost position is fed. The paper support 13 supporting the paper P is installed at a top of the hopper 11. A paper supporting face 13a formed by the paper support 13 is projected on a front side of the device from a paper supporting face 11a formed by the hopper 11, so as to prevent the bundle of the set papers P from falling down backwards.
