PURPOSE: A generator control unit of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to simplify a structure of hardware by forming a structure of the generator control unit as a plurality of diodes. CONSTITUTION: A generator control unit of a hybrid electric vehicle includes a plurality of rectifiers(D11-D16), a first switch portion, and a second switch portion. The rectifiers(D11-D16) are connected to each phase of the three-phase current of a generator and outputs the three-phase current. The first switch portion supplies the output voltage of the generator as the charging voltage of a battery when the output voltage of the generator is more than the voltage of the battery. The second switch portion is switched to boost the generated voltage according to a control signal when the output voltage of the generator is less than the voltage of the battery.
