PURPOSE: A device for driving a developer of a color image forming apparatus is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by using inexpensive solenoid and one-way gears. CONSTITUTION: A development driving motor drives a plurality of developing rollers(13a) of a developer and is capable of regular and reverse rotation. A reduction gear(131) is rotated by being engaged with a gear of the development driving motor for providing reduced rotational frequency. A plurality of one-way gears(160) receive rotary driving force from the reduction gear for rotating the developing rollers with the rotary driving force according to a rotary direction. A plurality of swing gears(150A,150B) rotates the engaged one-way gears, rotatively moving between the one-way gears. A plurality of swing drive gears(140A,140B) rotate the swing gears supportively. A plurality of swing arms(146A,146B) have one end connected with a swing gear shaft and the other end connected with a rotary moving element of the swing gear so that the swing gears are swung on the swing drive gears to be connected with the one-way gears.
