PURPOSE: A two-stage folding side step apparatus is provided to improve stability and get on and off conveniently by storing the side step being folded in closing a door without being protruded outward and drawing the two-stage side step out of the vehicle in opening the door. CONSTITUTION: A side step apparatus contained or protruded at the side of a vehicle comprises a first cylinder(10) connected to a door to regulate hydraulic pressure in opening and closing the door; a second cylinder(20) connected to the first cylinder by a hydraulic transmission member and combined with the lower part of a vehicle floor; and first and second footboards(30,31) deployed out of the vehicle in extending a second cylinder rod(21) and folded into the vehicle in contracting the second cylinder rod. The first footboard is connected to a first rod(311), and the first rod is extended inward and inserted to a guide slot. A second rod(313) of the second footboard is connected to a third rod(314) inserted to the guide slot of the second footboard.
