PURPOSE: An absolute steering angle-setting method in an EPS(Electronic power Steering) system is provided to execute a restoration control function by discriminating the absolute steering angle even when the speed of a vehicle is very low. CONSTITUTION: An absolute steering angle-setting method in an EPS system comprises steps of setting an angle flag into zero(S11); discriminating whether the steering angle speed derived from a relative steering angle signal detected from a motor position sensor is under reference speed(S12); discriminating whether the torque detected from a torque sensor is over the torque of the maximum end point and the holding time is over a predetermined time(S13); setting up the steering angle at the maximum end point into an absolute steering angle and setting up the angle flag into 1 according to the displacement of the motor-relative steering angle(S14¯16); and adding the angle variation following displacement of the motor-relative steering angle to the absolute steering angle set into the steering angle of the maximum end point and renewing the absolute steering angle, if the angle flag is set into 1(S17,S18).
