PURPOSE: A seat cushion apparatus by magnetic levitation is provided to improve driving experience, and to drive safely by automatically varying the height of the driver's seat with detecting the inclination of a vehicle in a tilt detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION: A tilt detecting sensor(3) is installed in the lower part of a seat(1), and an outer slider(4) is fixed to the seat. A lower support bar(7) is installed to a floor(6) of a vehicle body, and an inner slider(8) is mounted in the support bar. A permanent magnet(5) is attached to the outer slider, and the upper end of the lower support bar is inserted to the outer slider. An electromagnet(9) is mounted in the inner slider, and a slide guider is installed between the inner slider and the outer slider. The outer and inner sliders are moved along the slide guider. Inclination of the seat including change factors from weight of a driver against the vehicle floor is detected in traveling on the curved road or turning suddenly, and the intensity of the electromagnet is adjusted according to the inclination not to displace the seat from the operational range of the permanent magnet and the electromagnet.
