[Also in Divisions C2 and D1] Washing agents comprise as optical brightener #-form crystals, particle size 1-2 Á, of compounds of formula wherein R is H or Me and M is Na or K, the crystals obtained by pulverizing them to 1-2 Á in presence of (a) alkaline silicates and water, and optionally (b) isobutanol, ethyleneglycol monomethyl ether, methylcarbitol, a nonionic surface active agent, Glauber's salt, NaCl, NaOH or Na 2 CO 3 . Detergent ingredients are Marseille soaps, alkylbenzenesulphonates, α- olefin sulphonates, aliphatic alcohol sulphates and at least one binder.
