<p>When assembling a ventilating apparatus (1), a casing assembling step is first carried out. In the casing assembling step, a front sideplate (4), a rear sideplate (5), a left sideplate (6), and a right sideplate (7) are mounted on a bottom plate (3) and as a result a unit casing (2) without a top plate (8) is obtained. A fan assembling step is carried out after or concurrently with the casing assembling step. In the fan assembling step, a fan assembly (70) made up of a plurality of components such as a fan housing, a fan rotor and the like is assembled. Subsequently, a fan mounting step is carried out. In this step, the fan assembly (70) assembled in the fan assembling step is mounted on the unit casing (2) assembled in the casing assembling step.
