<p>Activated bauxite pellets, for use in dehydration of gases and liquids, in discolouration of organic liquids, and as catalyst for conversion of H2S to S, are produced by mixing finely divided bauxite with an alkali metal carbonate (pref. 0.5-5% Na2CO3), alkali metal hydroxide (pref. 1-6% NaOH) and water; pelletising, and calcining to reduce liquid constituent content to less than 15%.</p> |
