A rotor (16) for an external rotor-type permanent magnet motor is characterized in that the rotor comprises plural permanent magnets (19, 60) for forming magnetic poles, where the magnets are arranged on the outer periphery of a stator (11); frames (17, 52); circular ring-shaped iron cores (18, 53) integrally connected to the frames; and plural insertion holes (25, 59) that are provided in the iron cores and into which the permanent magnets are inserted.
