The invention relates to a process for obtaining cation-active acrylic polyelectrolytes, having the property of flocculating the suspensions in water. According to the invention, the process consists in subjecting the poly(meth)acrylamide or the copolymers thereof with formaldehyde, paraformaldehyde or trioxane to a chemical modification with primary, secondary, cyclic, aromatic aliphatic amine or with polyalylamines soluble in the system in a molar ratio of the reagents of 0.3...1.0 , depending on the number of desirable ionic groups, by an aminoemethylation reaction as such, or in the presence of a metal alkoxide-based catalyst, at a PH ranging from 5...12 and at a temperature ranging of 30 to 120 C, followed by the transformation of amine nitrogen into cuaternary nitrogen or by protonation with mineral acids, in a manner known per se.
|
