Use of date kernel extract in cosmetic compositions, e.g. for mimicking the effects of dehydroepiandrosterone

Date kernel extract is used in cosmetic compositions for mimicking the effects of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), for slowing skin degeneration due to aging or for preventing or treating cutaneous atrophy. Independent claims are also included for: (1) cosmetic dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) substitution treatment comprising applying a composition as above to the skin; (2) treatment of cutaneous atrophy by applying a composition as above to the skin; (3) slowing skin degeneration due to aging by applying a composition as above to the skin; (4) a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising date kernel extract and DHEA and/or its salts and/or esters.
