A selector lever for automatic transmission for an automobile has an automatic selector handle in which the horizontal movement of the push button (4) into the housing (11) is transmitted to the rod (6) by means of a deflecting lever (2) which is swivelable around a cylindrical pin (7). A support lever (1) is connected with the rod (6) by means of a cylindrical pin (3). The support lever (1) is supported at the housing (11) and its movement is limited by a distance element (12).
