A system (200) and method managing a distributed computing system having a plurality of resources (208). The system (200) includes a pair of system management servers (116) that are communicatively connected to the plurality of resources (208). The system management servers (116) receive a requested view of the computing system from a user (202) representing the desired functionalities or attributes of the computing system. The servers (116) further monitor an implemented view of the computing system, representing th e actual state or attributes of the computing system. The servers (116) compar e the implemented view to the requested view and automatically and dynamically configure the plurality of system resources (208) such that the implemented view consistently satisfies the requested view. |
