A combined battery, comprising a plurality of batteries (2) and a plurality of holding frames (3) capable of storably holding the batteries (2) with spaces (10a, 10b) formed therebetween and opened in the directions of both side faces opposed to each other, wherein the holding frames (3) storably holding the batteries (2) are arranged with the openings thereof matched with each other and end plates (4a, 4b) are arranged at both ends of the holding frames and connected to the holding frames integrally with each other to form an external case (5) forming a cooling space (6) around the batteries (2) by the holding frames (3) and the end plates (4a, 4b) connected to each other, and gas discharge passage parts (18) closably covering the peripheral space of gas discharge ports (8) provided in the batteries (2) and opening connection ports (19a, 19b) in both side faces of the holding frames (3) are provided in the holding frames (3).
