METHOD FOR MAKING AN OPTICAL CABLE AND RELATED MACHINE

The invention concerns a method for making an optical transmission cable from at least a tube wherein are arranged several optic fibers and reinforcing elements, one of the reinforcing elements being arranged in the center of the cable, some reinforcing elements and the tube being twisted around the central reinforcing element using a tubular machine (MT) so as to form a peripheral layer around said central reinforcing element. The invention also concerns a tubular machine (MT) comprising several reels numbered B1 to B9. On each of said reels B1 to B9 is wound a reinforcing element. Downstream of the tubular machine (MT) are successively a capstan (C) followed by a storage reel (BS) whereon is stored the optical transmission cable. The machine further comprises a grease box (BG).
