FIELD: digital processing of signals and location images, specifically, segmentation of two-dimensional fields of responses of radar, sonar and optoelectronic pickups. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has unit evaluating parameters, threshold former, unit of threshold comparison, control unit, first on-line storage, histogramming unit, histogram smoothing unit, second on-line storage, third on-line storage, interpolation unit. Usage of above-mentioned units and corresponding couplings makes it feasible to obtain increased precision in segmentation of elongated objects of unspecified shape thanks to realization of procedure of formation of segmentation threshold by histograms of image readings. Evaluation o segmentation threshold is realized with obtainment of focal estimations in local two-dimensional evaluation zones and further two-dimensional interpolation of threshold per each image reading. EFFECT: increased precision in segmentation of elongated objects of unspecified specified. 9 cl, 13 dwg
