A third set of nozzles (15) between a first nozzle (14) for spraying a fluid and a second nozzle (9) for spraying a gas is used to spray the filter (3) with fluid at a relatively high flow rate and/or pressure compared with the first nozzle. A device for cleaning an elongated filter comprises a roll (2) over which the filter can be moved, at least one first nozzle rotatable about its own axis and at least one second nozzle next to the first one. The first nozzle is oriented so that its points away from the roll and towards the filter so that it can spray a fluid against the latter, whilst the second nozzle is used to spray a gas against the filter. A third set of nozzles between the first and second nozzles are used to spray a fluid against the filter, the fluid flow rate and/or pressure being greater than that for the first nozzle.
