The procedure is for the swinging out and swinging in of transporting arms on transporting trucks, whereby inertia forces (Ft), which with acceleration and braking of the transporting truck (1) arise are created on it, are changed when exceeding a determined value so that mechanical operating devices for the swinging out and swinging out of the transporting arms are actuated. The mass of the transporting truck in its entirety is used for the gaining of the inertia forces during acceleration and braking. An Independent claim is included for a system for the swinging out and swinging in of transporting arms on a transporting truck, whereby a cable (5) is connected not directly to the truck but to a traction rod (2) on both sides which extends parallel to the truck and on the same level with it.
