The two main reasons for diabetes to occur (excess glucose and/or male sexual hormones) bring into play reducing and/or alkaline substances that probably have a direct influence on the insulin structure, rendering the insulin less functional or altogether non-functional. A device having oxidizing and/or acidic power would allow the situation to be re-established or prevent it from deteriorating. Said device comprises a wire that is provided with one (or several) metals, optionally in the form of (a) salt(s), which is surrounded by a protecting sheath that allows the reaction to take place but prevents the metal and/or salt from dissolving.
