A nuzzle device (1) comprises an element, such as a roller (2), which is locatable at or adjacent a component otherwise accessible by an animal, such as a horse, to prevent or distract the animal from damaging such component. Particularly, the nuzzle device (1) is used with stable door structures (8), to prevent a horse from cribbing, namely, chewing, the top edge of the bottom half of a wooden door of a stable in which the horse is accommodated.
