PURPOSE: A method for controlling an electronic expansion valve of a multi air conditioner is provided to rapidly contract the electronic expansion valve and reduce noise by opening the electronic expansion valve by reference opening degree stored in previous operation. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the processes of: a first process opening an electronic expansion valve by stored reference opening degree and controlling an air conditioner for regular operation when a user switches the air conditioner to indoor unit operation mode; and a second process repeatedly updating the reference opening degree previously stored if the opening degree of the electronic expansion valve is kept for fixed time while regular operation control. The first process comprises the steps of: a first step determining whether the user selects the indoor unit operation mode; a second step whether the stored reference opening degree exists if the air conditioner is at regular operation control and initial operation; and a third step opening the electronic expansion valve by the stored reference opening degree and operating the air conditioner at the regular operation control if the stored reference opening degree exists, and operating the air conditioner at set reference opening degree if not.
