[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise piperazines of general formula: wherein Ar is an aromatic radical comprising two condensed rings of which the ring not linked to the remainder of the molecule may be a carbocyclic or heterocyclic saturated ring or an aromatic ring; and R, and R 2 are H, halo, -NH 2 , acylamino, -CN, -CF 3 or alkyl, alkoxy, alkylcarbonyl or alkylthio with 1-4 carbon atoms or their non-toxic acid addition salts together with carriers, diluents and optionally hypnotics, neuroleptics, spasmolytics, antiphlogistics and other compounds having depressant effects e.g. (-)-N-scopolammoniumbutyl bromide, metamizole and lecithin. They can be administered orally, parenterally and rectally and possess sedative, neuroleptic and tranquillising properties.</p> |
