The plug socket (1) has a body (10) of material with very good anti-corrosion properties, and an elastic element (20) of different material with very good resilient properties secured to socket body. The body contains an engagement section (15).A holding section (25) is formed on the elastic element and can be brought into engagement with engagement section for securing the elastic element to socket body. Typically the body material is a non-ferrous metal, while the element material is refined, or spring steel. Independent claims are included for connector with invented socket and appropriate cable strand.
