PURPOSE: A method and a device for automatically transmitting the printer installation information on the network are provided to inform an available printer and the printer installation information including the URL(Uniform Resource Locator) information of a printer server having a network printer port and a printer driver whenever new terminals connect to an access pointer. CONSTITUTION: A system controller(202) comprises hardware and software for executing a medium access control process, an automatic printer installation information transmission control process, and a wire/wireless interface control process. Memories(203,204) store a program and the data for controlling the network printer. An Ethernet interface circuit(205) comprises the software and the hardware for executing the data communication by connecting to a wired LAN and for inputting/outputting the transmission/reception data with the system controller. A wireless LAN interface circuit comprises the software and the hardware for executing the data communication by connecting to a wireless LAN and for inputting/outputting the transmission/reception data with the system controller.
