The man-machine interface comprises a first input interface (100) for producing descriptive files, including metadata, unit for indexing the files, a second input interface (101) for producing requests, and a multi-criteria search engine for searching the descriptive files based on the requests. There is a unit for displaying the results obtained (102). The interface further comprises, optionally, an Internet browser (103) and a fast indexing knob.
