PURPOSE: A multi-link management system and method for the communication between two hosts is provided to make many physical low-speed links look like one logical high-speed link. CONSTITUTION: A data link layer completes link setup for channel 0 or 1(310,410). An MLPPP(Multi Link Point to Point) carries out LCP(Link layer Control Protocol) access and sets up a logical link(320,420). The data link layer executes authentication procedures(330,440). IPCP(IP Control Protocol) access is executed in order to allocate an IP address to a physical link and to form a logical link(340).
