1301741 Endless conveyers SEITZ-WERKE GmbH 16 Jan 1970 [16 Jan 1969] 2159/70 Heading B8A Apparatus for transferring bottles from an endless conveyer 10 to an endless conveyer 20 comprises a plurality of shoots 16 extending between the conveyer 10 and a set-down plate 19 arranged in the plane of the conveyer 20, and a series of rotatable discs 18 each with a support surface 31 to extend into the path of the bottles and lower the same on to the plate 19 against the action of a brake 38. The bottles are held in containers 13 on the conveyer 10 and slide along guide plates 14 until positioned above the transfer apparatus where a roller 41 driven at a speed in excess of the speed of the conveyer 10 urges the bottles against the upper end of the shoots 16. The shoots 16 are then moved away from the roller, by a cam 23 and cam follower 24, at a speed corresponding to that of the conveyer 10 to allow the bottles to pass between the roller 41 and the shoot and thence down the shoots to the discs 18. The discs 18 are rotatably mounted on a shaft 17 and are drivably connected thereto by a collar 36 with a slot 35, a pin 34 fast with the shaft 17 moves in said slot. The arrangement being such that when the bottles engage the support surface 31, the discs rotate freely about the shaft, against the action of the brake 38, until the surface 31 is in the plane of the setting down plate 19, whereupon the disc stops until the free play is taken out of the pin and slot coupling by rotation of the shaft 17. The discs are then rotated such that their spiral surface 31 advances the previously lowered bottle from the setting down plate 19 on to the conveyer 20. |
