Computer-aided motor vehicle system optimization method for optimizing a system's parameters uses approximation models for forecasting

Approximation models (AM) are generated for real parameter target range points (RPTP) generated e.g. through tests/simulations. The forecasting ability of single AM is evaluated and an approximation model is selected with the best forecasting ability. If this is high enough, then the corresponding model is used in an optimizer. Otherwise, only the RPTP are used in an optimizer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A computer program product for carrying out the method of the present invention; (b) and for a computer system with a device for carrying out the method of the present invention; (c) and for a device for optimizing the parameters of a system according to the present invention.
