The fuel supply system has a diesel filter with a filtering device accommodated in a housing, and a displacement registering sensor (40) installed on the outflow side of the filtering device. A registering pressure of the sensor is set to a predetermined range which is higher than an initial pressure level which is measured if the diesel filter is in a new state, and lower than a displacement pressure level which is measured if no fuel is being supplied following displacement of the filtering device.
