<p>A device for creating noise in a motor vehicle comprises a hollow body, which has an entry space (8) that, via an entry line (3), is connected to a gas-conducting part of an internal combustion engine (1) mounted in the motor vehicle, and has an exit space (9) that, via an exit line (10), is acoustically coupled to a passenger compartment (5) of the vehicle and/or to the area surrounding the vehicle. The entry space (8) is separated from the exit space (9) at least by means of a wall (7) that is, in essence, acoustically inactive. A sound transmitting device (11) is arranged inside the hollow body and has at least two vibratable elements (12, 13) of which one is arranged inside entry space (8) and the other inside exit space (9). The at least two vibratable elements (12, 13) are connected to one another by means of a curved connecting element (16), which is mounted on the acoustically inactive wall (7). These elements are connected in such a manner that when the vibratable element (12) arranged inside entry space (8) is subjected to the action of sound introduced through the entry line, the connecting element (16) executes a rotational motion. The connecting element (16) transfers the vibrations of the vibratable element (12) arranged inside entry space (8) to the vibratable element (13) arranged inside entry space (9).</p> |
