COMBINED INSTRUMENT WITH A LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY WITH A REFLECTOR ON THE REAR SIDE THEREOF

The aim of the invention is to develop an extremely flat combined instrument used in vehicles. The inventive combined instrument comprises a liquid crystal display (23) with a reflector (24) on the rear side thereof, and a light guide plate (25) which is at least partially transparent is disposed in a plane-parallel manner in relation to the front side of the liquid crystal display (23). The light guide plate (25) comprises a coating or structure on the surface thereof for decoupling light. The coating or structure covering the light guide plate (25) disposed in a plane-parallel manner in relation to the front side of the liquid crystal display (23) diffracts the light guided from the light guide plate (25) and in a targeted and essentially perpendicular manner with respect to the liquid crystal display (23) in the direction of the reflector (24). As a result, the distance between the liquid crystal display (23) and the incident illuminating system thereof is minimised.
