FIELD: hardware, particularly, keys for lock operation. SUBSTANCE: key has, at least, one movable drive capable of moving within set limits in transverse direction relative to longitudinal axis of key body. One of end faces of said drive depending on direction of its displacement is capable of engagement with positioning member of movable drive. There is, at least, one shaped side surface on, at least, one side edge of key cross-sections running through planes perpendicular to key body longitudinal axis. Said planes of shaped cross-section intersect said longitudinal axis on, at least, one segment length confined by two end surfaces of drive. At least, one end face of key body has, at least, one hole leading to drive socket. Said shaped side surface of drive is engageable through said hole with, at least, one movable turning pin so as to displace it into position ensuring rotation of turning part relative to fixed part. In this case, position of shaped side surface of drive or shaped side surfaces of drive and engageable movable pin relative to each other is governed by positioning member.
