A disposable blood-letting lancet is comprised of a single piece of sheet metal, e.g. a stamping and has an elongated body portion 11 with two or more corrugations 13 with raised dimples 16 (to facilitate gripping) and a point 25 at one or both ends formed on a central corrugation 27, the point(s) projecting the required distances from the shoulders 17. When a point is present at both ends, they are of different lengths, e.g. c. 0.094" and 0.156", to suit different subjects (Fig. 8, not shown). Preferably, the points are of the shape indicated in Fig. 2 (not shown) with a discontinuity in the side edges giving a sharp point on a robust base. |
