ERROR CORRECTING CODING APPARATUS OF DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An error correcting coding apparatus of a digital broadcasting system is provided to restore data received in a poor receiving environment stably and correctly. CONSTITUTION: An error correcting coding apparatus of a digital broadcasting system includes a scrambler(100), the first and second RS encoders(120,160), an interleaver(140), and a bit interleaver(180). The scrambler mixes TS stream with a pseudo random binary sequence to remove correlation of input data. The first RS encoder encodes the correlation-removed data in unit of block for error correction. The interleaver rearranges the encoded data. The second RS encoder re-codes the rearranged data in unit of block for error correction. The bit interleaver disperses the re-coded data in unit of bit. The error correcting coding apparatus further includes a symbol mapper(200) that carries out symbol-mapping of the dispersed data in order to transmit the data, and a modulator(220) for modulating the symbol-mapped data.
