PURPOSE: A flat iron for use in permanent having anti-burn function is provided to prevent a person to have a perm from getting burned by rapidly discharging steam before high temperature steam is changed into high temperature and high pressure steam, and to increase the convenience of use thereof by virtue of the fact that an electrical controller for a heat portion is installed inside a case. CONSTITUTION: The flat iron for use in permanent, having heat portions(23a,23b) to be controlled by an electrical controller, and flat heating plates(25a,25b) hinged at one side so as to be elastically folded or unfolded, comprises a pair of cases(11a,11b) having first spaces in which the heater portions and heating plates are successively installed, and second spaces in which the electrical controller is installed, the first and second spaces integrally extend to each other, and steam exhaust holes(34) aligned in two lines along the length of the heating plate at the both sides thereof so as to exhaust high temperature steam generated by the heating plate to the outside.
