PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielded LAN cable in which production efficiency can be enhanced while sustaining conventional crosstalk characteristics. SOLUTION: Two insulated wires 19 each formed by covering a central conductor 15 with an insulator 17 are twisted to form a paired twisted wire 13. Four metal tapes 27 are then prepared and bent by 90°such that a metal layer 27a is located on the inside and then they are combined to build up a cross which is crimped, for example, to form a metal layer cross filler 11 having four barrier walls 23. The pair twist wire 13 is arranged between the barrier walls 23 and integrated such that the adjacent metal tape 27 wrapping the outer side face of the paired twisted wire 13 overlaps the barrier wall 23 while bringing it down when both the paired twisted wire 13 and the metal layer cross filler 11 are twisted before the entirety is further covered with a housing. Since shielding of each paired twisted wire 13 and the entirety can be carried out at once, crosstalk characteristics can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
