<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk apparatus having the function of performing fine recording control, when recording to a recording type optical disk, such as phase change in CAV mode. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical disk, division into a plurality zones is made in the radial direction, the zones are further divided into a plurality of sectors in the track direction, and the optical disk is rotated at a fixed speed for composing one block by sixteen continuous sectors. Test writing is made to one block two blocks ahead from the head block of a user section region being provided in the zone, the test writing result is recorded to the optical disk, and the function of deleting the block section is, after the completion of the trial writing is provided. Further, the test writing is made in one block two blocks behind the final block of the user sector region provided in the zone.
