PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a battery case in which the batteries can be housed in a vertical two stage structure, and size C batteries and size AA batteries are commonly used. SOLUTION: The battery case comprises a rectangular housing box 3 of which the top face is opened and which houses size C batteries 1 or size AA batteries overlapped respectively vertically, a lid 4 that covers the opening of the housing box 3 capable of detachment, a base 5 of plate-shape that is positioned at the lowest part of the batteries overlapped and slides vertically, a first spring 6 that is arranged between the base 5 and the bottom face of the housing box 3 and pushes the base 5 upward, a contact terminal 7 that contacts each of the electrodes corresponding to it and slides vertically, a second spring 8 of which one end is connected to the contact terminal 7 and the other end is connected to the joint 5a and pushes up or pulls down the contact terminal 7 according to the vertical slide movement of the base 5, and a stopper 9 that restrains the slide movement of the contact terminal 7 at a prescribed position corresponding to the electrode of the batteries.
