A coated metal tubing arrangement comprises a metal tube (10), a first polymeric layer (12), and a second polymeric layer (14) having a foamed structure and located radially outwardly of the first layer. The first and second polymeric materials are similar. An Independent claim is included for a method for forming the inventive coated tubing arrangement comprising providing a metal tube, providing a first polymeric material, extruding the polymeric material onto the tubing, providing a second polymeric material, co-extruding the second polymeric material onto the first polymeric material and expanding the second polymeric material to form a foamed structure.
