摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing cast grids for a storage battery for reducing cavities at intersections of inner staves of the grid for the storage battery with major staves of the grid for the storage battery which are likely to be hot points without increasing the quantity of discard staves, or without deforming the grid for the storage battery, improving corrosion resistance of the grids for the storage battery, improving the service life of a lead storage battery using the grid for the storage battery, and preventing degradation of output characteristics of the lead storage battery. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing grids for a storage battery comprises a first step of closing a pair of molds by using a mold having a recess for a grid for the storage battery and a recess for a discard stave for an abutting surface of at least one of a pair of molds, a second step of pouring molten lead or molten lead alloy in the mold, a third step of solidifying the poured lead or lead alloy to form a grid precursor, a fourth step of opening the pair of molds to take out the grid precursor from the mold, and a fifth step of cutting out the grid for the storage battery from the grid precursor, and further include a step of pressurizing at least a part of discard staves between the fourth step and the fifth step.
