PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that appropriately associates requests with responses even though the requests are continuously transmitted in communication between a client and a server. SOLUTION: An agent installed in the client generates a unique message ID on the basis of a MAC (media access control) address given to the client and a time, and attaches the unique message ID to an HTTP request in generating the HTTP request. A print intermediary server receives the HTTP request and performs processing corresponding to the request. The print intermediary server generates an HTTP response with a return value being its processing result recorded. In such a case, a message ID that is the same as the message ID attached to the HTTP request defined as a processing object is attached to the HTTP response. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
