In order, in a process for treating waste water from power stations equipped with flue gas desulphurisation equipment in which the organic acids contained are eliminated, to treat acid-containing power station waste water in such a manner that the chemical and biological oxygen demand (COD and BOD, respectively) of organic acids are virtually disposed of without a high energy consumption, it is proposed to degrade the organic acids in a last process step from aerobic microorganisms using atmospheric oxygen, by bringing into contact the acid-containing, gypsum-desaturated and low-solids and low-heavy-metal waste water and atmospheric oxygen with the microorganisms over a large surface area.
|
