The dormer roof (1) is installed in a pitched roof (2) of a building. It has a flat or gently-sloping roof (4) making a junction with the pitched roof and extending out to be level with or slightly overlapping the vertical front wall (6) with the dormer window (5). Vertical side walls (3) fill the triangular spaces at the sides of the dormer. the front wall extends down to the floor (7) of the roof space.
