In one of its aspects, the present invention relates to an attachment device (100) which comprises a series of attachment portions (110). The attachment portions (110) are interconnected to one another by at least one connecting portion (120), preferably a flexible connecting portion (120). The attachment device (100) is flexible in at least two independent planes (#1, #2). In most cases, the present attachment device (100) will be flexible in more than two independent planes. A preferred manner by which such flexibility is conferred to the attachment device is by the provision of a trim cover attachment portion (110) having a female attachment portion (140) attached to a base portion (130). The base portion (130) has a larger surface area than the surface area of the female attachment portion (140) adjacent or attached thereto. The lateral dimension of the base portion (130) is greater than the lateral dimension of the at least one connecting portion (120). A process of producing a resilient device (e.g., a foam element for use in a vehicular seat) is also described as is a mold (60) for carrying out such a process. The present attachment device (100) is particularly well suited for attaching a trim cover (10) to a resilient (e.g., foam) body (50) to produce a vehicular seat or a component of a vehicular seat. Other applications of the present attachment device are also contemplated.
