A first pair of axially extending terminals (36, 38) on a high voltage insulation plug (20) designed to mount on an end of a gas discharge lamp are separated from each other by a wall (42) that carries a second pair of axially extending terminals (32, 34) mounted on the wall spaced axially from the first pair, the four terminals are adapted for electrical connection to the gas discharge lamp; and a high voltage insulation socket (50) having four axial passageways each containing an axially movable contact spring biased toward the plug, the terminals and passageways so configured that when the plug is rotated on the socket about a common axis with each terminal axially depressing one of the contacts, protrusions on the second pair can be rotated under shoulders in the socket adjacent to the passageways.
