The invention relates to a transmission device for a land vehicle, such as a cart. For a first transmission ratio, the flyweights (113) tighten the clutch (11) and, in this way, connect the input (3) with the planet gear (5) while the ring gear (6) is immobilised by the free wheel (9). For the second transmission ratio, the flyweights (131) push the ring gear (6) counter to the axial thrust of the helical toothing in a direction such that the clutch (12) is tightened against the ring (111) and, in this way, the clutch (11) is simultaneously released. The thrust from the toothing in the ring gear (6) diminishes and the transmission occurs from the input (3) towards the ring gear (6) while the planet gear (5) is immobilised by the free wheel thereof (8). As the speed increases even more, the flyweights (131) lift up higher, compress the preload springs (121) and push the ring (116) in the clutch (11) tightening direction, thereby creating the direct drive. The invention can be used to produce economical performances particularly in carts.
